Linked Cultural Objects: dagli standard di catalogazione ai modelli per il web of data. Spunti di riflessione dalla Fototeca Zeri

Marilena Daquino, Francesca Tomasi

Abstract

This paper introduces similarities and differences between disciplines dealing with the formal description of cultural heritage. A particular focus is given to the usage of Semantic Web technologies to add value to data. By sharing open data and building a network of relations between cultural objects, the Linked Open Data cloud can be a new tool for disseminating knowledge. A case study on the Fondazione Zeri photo archive is here presented so as to exemplify methods and ontologies adopted for integrating domains.
