In critical discourse, Calvino’s writing often evokes images of order, clarity, and measure. But what happens if we shift our attention to its fractures? Calvino nella nebbia. Dubitare, esitare, cancellare by Margherita Parigini, developed within the framework of the Atlante Calvino: letteratura e visualizzazione project, investigates precisely these fault lines: hesitations, erasures, reformulations. A continuous movement that turns writing into an unstable and ever-becoming field. The volume offers a theoretical definition and a visual mapping of the “dubitative text”, a narrative form that questions itself as it is being constructed, proceeding through corrections and constant deviations. Through the tools of the Digital Humanities, and in particular the techniques of Data Visualization, doubt emerges not as a misstep, but as a generative and regulative force of narrative.
