Abstract

The Digital Humanities offer new ideas, new energies, and new expectations. Despite the current scenario, the future development of the discipline, witnessed by the increasing number of call for papers and conferences, make us feel optimistic. Just as I was pleased to welcome the contributions presented at the fifth AIUCD Conference that took place in Venice in September 2016, I am now equally pleased to introduce a selection of those papers in this issue of Umanistica Digitale.
